The 2018 Old Master has aromas of sage and cloves layered with blackberries and quince. Its flavors are elegant, dignified and generous, seemingly playing with your taste buds. The finish of fine, mature tannins is long and persistent. This is a delicious wine for now and into the 2030s.
Cabernet Franc and Merlot were hand-picked at night, hand-sorted, destemmed and fermented using native yeasts. The wine was barreled down to 80% new Darnajou, François Frères & Sylvain French oak barrels. The wine was blended after minimal racking and bottled unfiltered and unfined after 22 months.
