Nose

This Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich depth filled with red fruit, dark cherry, blueberry, and nicely integrated oak spices. There is a nuance of dark chocolate cherry truffle, cocoa powder, tobacco and bay laureal.

Palate

The flavor is reminiscent of red raspberry and cherry juice, on a bed of firm, yet resolved tannin with great balance of body and acidity. This cabernet sauvignon from Freemark Abbey is a great example of a mountain cab, with the rich extraction of abundant flavors providing a wine of great depth and pleasure.

Growing Conditions

This growing season was ideal and some would venture to say perfect. With textbook conditions for spring bud break, the vines experienced steady growth through flowering and fruit set. A classic summer weather pattern promoted a very even growing period, with fruit that was abundant but not overly cropped. Long summer days provided a long ripening period that reached our goals before the fall rains. Harvest was a winemaker’s dream

Appearance

Very dark with dark ruby edges.
