Nose

The aromas of dark cherry, red plum and blackberry are integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and toast. With the subtle sweet aroma of a humidor, this wine has an abundance of complex aromas and flavors.

Palate

The body is very full with a soft entry, coupled with dark cherry/berry flavors that develop from start to finish. With great texture and mouth feel, this Cabernet is full bodied, rich and opulent.

Growing Conditions

The cool wet winter continued into the spring, delaying bud break, flowering and fruit set by at least two weeks. The set was low, with a lower than average crop size in general. The summer temperatures were below normal as well, prolonging the growing cycle, delaying veraison and harvest. There was a two day heat spike around August 24th that stimulated harvest. The harvest was delayed, yet had plenty of time to achieve maturity before the rains arrived.
