Nose

This wine is offering fantastic primary aromas of rich, ripe red-berry fruit. I find
undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel.

Palate

On the palate the wine is
massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid-palate. The balance of the wine
from front to back is impeccable, and the finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully. We suggest decanting for 30-60 minutes prior to serving. Drink now through 2041.

Growing Conditions

2013 was a wonderful wine-growing season in Napa Valley, a true classic. The
slow and even season produced great grapes with deeply colored and velvety skins,
brown seeds, fully ripened grape tannins, and a wonderful natural balance of brix
and acidity.

Winemaking

Our Cabernet Sauvignon from Tietjen Vineyard was picked on September 19, 2013,
at optimal ripeness. The grapes were crushed and fermented in stainless tank, then
aged for 26 months in small French oak barrels. Since this is a Single Vineyard wine
made of a single varietal, we are selecting and blending individual barrels of the
same wine.
