Nose

Dark and almost leathery on the nose, with hints of forest floor and mint, blackberry, black cherry, and bramble fruit aromas. Upon opening, oak aspect is quite evident, and finish seems a bit abrupt, but with decantation and left open for several hours, becomes well integrated in the wine.

Palate

Dark fruits on the palate, but accented with bright cherry, currant, spice, and pepper. Earthy and a little gamey with soft, supple texture. Peppery Syrah flavors slightly predominant.

Bottling

Bottled 6/29/2010.
