Palate

Decadent with a copious show of crystalized honeycomb, star fruit, orange peel, anise, poached pear, green apple, wet stone and sea salt, elaborately constructed around a dense, obtuse expressive core of marzipan, lavender, white peach graham crust complete with an unrelenting sledge hammer finish. The self-indulgence while drinking this Chardonnay is almost embarrassing.

This small cuvée seems to have a more buttery edge to it, with more honeysuckle, orange oil and tangerine notes. It is slightly more tropical, but again restrained, with good acidity and a subtle, deft use of new oak.

Growing Conditions

From the first vineyard the Sangiacomo family planted in 1969, Green Acres is situated in the cool coastal appellation of Carneros and benefits from rocky, well-drained soils and signature afternoon winds. Our Green Acres Chardonnay shows off its broad, rich texture, a natural gift from Old Wente, which contrasts with its minerality and a provoking acidity. With over three generations of viticulture expertise, we are proud of our alliance with the Sangiacomo Family.
