Growing Conditions

2018 was truly a winemakers’ vintage, and the quality of the resulting wines presents itself in bottle. Generous rainfall in February led to a late budbreak and extended flowering period. Beautiful and mild weather throughout spring and summer made for a healthy crop load. With no major heat spikes or weather events in the fall, winemakers were able to patiently wait to pick at optimal fruit ripeness.

Winemaking

Made from grapes of premier vineyards in Russian River Valley, the Amici Cellars Reserve Pinot Noir showcases the classic Russian River characteristics of heady aromas, vibrant cherry fruit flavors and delicate tannins. A true beauty of a wine, it is delicious on release but will age well for 5-7 years.

The 2018 Amici Pinot Noir Reserve is a wine that exemplifies the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir style with concentrated wild black cherry and berry, pomegranate, dark fruit cobbler, and hints of baking spices. This medium-full bodied wine has flavors of powered cocoa, ripe blackberry and rose with an earthly finish of forest floor, mushroom and hints of tobacco.
