Winemaking
The 2017 Young Inglewood Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a fascinating wine. Boysenberry, pie spice and chocolate espresso team up with beguiling eucalyptus, herb and floral notes. Full-bodied and richly textured on the palate this superbly balanced wine has ample fine-grained tannins and a lingering finish. Simply irresistible.
Cabernet Sauvignon is usually among the last varieties to ripen in the Napa Valley. Young Inglewood's organic and sustainable farming methods allow us to bring our Cabernet to ripeness and phenolic maturity earlier. In 2017 this was critical. While Young Inglewood was perilously close to the devastating 2017 fires, we at least didn't have to worry about grape damage, because our grapes were already fermenting in the winery when the fires came. Our 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a joy and especially precious because of the traumas of its vintage.
