Nose

Expressive with dark chocolate, cedar, black cherry, and the spiciness of a black mission fig.

Palate

The wine shows lovely texture, with supportive, mouth-filling tannins that mingle well with flavors of darkly roasted coffee, blueberries, black cherry, and subtle clove. The wine is dense and supple, with a lingering, sweetly smoky finish. Drinkable now but will age gracefully due to its heritage.

Growing Conditions

All fruit is organically grown.

Harvest

The grapes were harvested October 11, 2012.

Aging

22 months in 60% new French oak barrels from Treuil cooperage (i.e. Ailler and Troncais).

Appearance

The wine is a deep red in the glass, with lightly purple undertones.
