Vibrant and refreshing, this is the most transparent wine we make, a pure expression of our estate vineyards. We produced our first Riesling in 1974, made in a distinctively dry and crisp style. It has been a family favorite ever since. Bright and aromatic, it is marvelously food-friendly and cellar-worthy.

A wine of depth and dignity, this elegant expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reflects everything we have learned farming our estate vineyards in the cool climate of the Oak Knoll District since 1968. Achieving a density of dark fruit on the palate, we maintain a bright and lively peppery spiciness, resulting in a wine of impeccable balance that evolves beautifully in both the glass and the cellar.

Our Nana, Catherine Trefethen, was Welsh. Her twin loves of wine and family were the original inspiration for our estate in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District. Celebrating our heritage, “Y Ddraig Goch”, the symbol of Wales, adorns this bottle of Dragon’s Tooth, a provocative blend born from the rockiest part of our vineyard.

Chardonnay was our first international success, helping to put not only Trefethen but Napa Valley on the map. Defined in the vineyard and refined in the cellar, this wine reflects the cool climate of our estate in the Oak Knoll District, showcasing our signature characteristics of brightness and balance.

Merlot flourishes in relatively cool growing regions with moist soils, making it an ideal match for certain parts of our estate vineyard, located in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, a sweet spot between warmer up-valley regions and the cool southern tip.

The Trefethen family is committed to making wines that are the purest expression of our vineyards. This Cabernet Sauvignon is made from some of the finest lots from our estate, producing a consistently elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that is worthy to be called Reserve.

The future of our winery is in our vineyards. The family’s future is in the third generation of Trefethens, for whom this wine is named—Hailey and Lorenzo. HāLo is sourced entirely from our Hillspring Vineyard, where shallow, rocky soils, coupled with a climate protected from fog and wind, allow us to grow truly exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon.
