Nose
The 2011 begins with a very complex nose of blueberry, black cherry, cedar, cigar tobacco, nutmeg, clove, plum, red currant and fig.
Palate
The attack is voluminous, dense and rich, with blackberry, cedar, plum, fig, chocolate and tobacco dominating, great density and richness in the mid-palate with richly robed tight grain tannins building progressively. The finish is long starting with fig and chocolate and moving to fig, plum, toffee and cherry and finally back to fig, toffee and tobacco. We recommend decanting for at least an hour for the wine to show beautifully now, although it will age for at least a decade or more.
