Aromas of dark berries and plums and savory notes of black pepper, licorice, tamarind, forest floor, tar, and graphite.
On the palate, the wine is very mouth filling and round with layers of black fruit, and a touch of black pepper, finishing with integrated tannins.
The grapes were hand-harvested and cluster and berry sorted before a two-day cold soak. After inoculation with French yeast, the wine underwent small-batch fermentation, with gentle pumpovers 2-3 times per day. In barrel, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was racked twice before bottling in June 2015.
