Palate

The palate is fresh, delightful, and bright with flavors of citrus and stone fruit.

Growing Conditions

This refreshing Sauvignon Blanc comes from our best vineyard sites within the Guenoc Valley appellation in Lake County and select sites throughout Sonoma County. The majority of the fruit comes from Lake County’s Guenoc Valley where volcanic, rocky soils and daily temperature swings deliver concentrated flavors and distinct varietal character. The remainder is from select vineyards throughout Sonoma County where the region’s cooling influence contributes bright, full-flavored Sauvignon Blanc. The result is a synergy of intense flavors and distinct minerality.

Harvest

2016 was early, light, and high in quality. The season began with an early bud break, and moderate weather throughout spring and summer allowing for slow, even ripening of the fruit. The berry sizes were smaller than average, and longer hang times resulted in layered and complex flavors.

Winemaking

Our goal with this wine was to capture the essence of the variety and the sites, maintain freshness and avoid any hints of oxidation. We harvested all of the grapes at nighttime to ensure cold fruit at the time of pressing. The must was fermented at cold temperatures in stainless steel tanks with specific yeast strains selected to heighten the inherent aromatics.

Aging

100% Stainless Steel.

Appearance

Light straw in color.
