Nose

The dry temperate conditions are evident in the glass with nicely ripe red fruit with hints of blackberry on the nose supported by the warmth of cedar, cocoa, sweet vanilla.

Palate

Lovely drive and forward movement in the mouth is punctuated by mature lush tannins and concentration of black fruit lending richness and length to the generous finish.

Growing Conditions

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is classic Red Mare. As the driest year in California History to date we were lucky temperatures were relatively mild during the growing season. Harvest got off to a bang with the 6.0 magnitude earthquake on August 24th reminding us to count our blessings and tie down our barrels.
