Palate

The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc highlights the two amazing clones of Sauvignon Blanc (Musque and Clone 1) we work with and the fantastic terrior of our 1 acre parcel here in Oak Knoll. This exemplary vintage composed a vibrant, elegant white wine that delivers intricate aromas of citrus blossom and guava on the nose, layered with flavors of lemon zest and wet stone across a multi-layered palate. This wine is framed by a crisp acidity and a soft mouthfeel, Concentrated with a reverberating finish, interlaced amongst notes of tangerine and cantaloupe.

Growing Conditions

February saw abundant rains, followed by lots of filtered light in spring and early summer. Both bud break and flowering occurred a bit late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating plentiful and even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun during the day and cooler marine influences, virtually uninterrupted by major heat spikes. The relatively mild summer followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat created near-ideal conditions for winemakers to allow their fruit to accumulate flavor complexity with gradual increases in sugar levels.
