Palate

The 2014 Tench Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon exudes dark berry flavors with a hint of fresh blueberry, which defines this special site. A mouthwatering entry coats the palate, while the flavor and texture are complemented by retrained oak. Ultimately, the tannins dissolve, leaving an impression of resolution and completeness.

Growing Conditions

The Tench Vineyard is a spectacular site to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, and this particular area has produced many celebrated wines. Nickel & Nickel’s Tench Vineyard Cabernet comes from just four acres of the 60-acre vineyard, which was planted in 1968, and the land is situated along the flat, eastern edge of the Oakville appellation. The incredibly red, rocky soil is the calling card of this vineyard, and the deep, dark, ripe fruit produced by older vines is its signature.
