A Bordeaux-style white wine with a color of champagne pearl, aromas of citrus and pear with a smoothness and slight creamy richness to the body; a delicious lemon soufflé.
This special Estate 100% Semillon Reserve wine is named for Caterina Nichelini our founding mother. Sémillon is often used in blending with other white wines especially Sauvignon Blanc. It is a bit rare in Napa Valley which has only 160 acres of these vines in production. I barrel fermented the wine for about one month to add more nuance. It did complete malolactic fermentation resulting in a smoothness and slight creamy richness to the body with a refreshing concentration of citrus and pear.
This Sémillon was barrel fermented new French oak, cellared in stainless for three months and then bottled until release.
