Palate

An expressive nose of dark red fruits, dried rose petals and raspberry preserves is complimented by a rich and warm palate that boasts considerable weight and texture through a long and saturated finish that carries toasted vanilla and stick spice notes.

Growing Conditions

Our wines are made in a style crafted to take advantage of the distinctive Oakville character of our fruit. After fermentation is complete the wine is transferred to new French oak barrels made by Taransaud and Darnajou. It is bottled approximately 21 months after harvest. Alcohol and extraction levels are somewhat lower than typical Oakville Cabernets making the wines approachable early in their lives. They are pleasant to drink on their own or with a meal. The tasting notes are written by our associate wine maker, Dave Grega.

The 2014 Nemerever wines reflect both the best of what we love in Oakville cabernet and the hallmarks of the touted 2014 vintage.

Oakville is the perfect cross section between elegance and power. Dark loamy fruits with great mouthfeel and presence combined with a seamless and soft approach could describe the region's wines perfectly. The 2014 Nemerever wines provide this in spades with additional density of fruit and ripe rounded tannin from the remarkable 2014 vintage. The length and finish of the wines is attributed to both the quality of fruit and the ideal growing conditions.
While these wines can be cellared and enjoyed in time we recommend a 3-5-year window for optimal enjoyment and expression of vintage and terroir.
