Nose

Gorgeous aromas of blueberry, boysenberry, and cassis.

Palate

Complex layers of dark chocolate, fresh earth, leather, anise, sage, and mineral flavors. Wonderfully balanced, with a full-bodied, mouth-filling richness and supple-texture the wine has a long and sophisticated finish.

Growing Conditions

Nestled in the Sierra foothills at an elevation of 500′, the Clos du Lac vineyard has proven to be an ideal location for growing several premium grape varietals, particularly Cabernet Franc. Our Cabernet Franc comes from older vines grown in decomposed granite soils.

Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is grown at the renowned Stage Coach Vineyard, situated atop Atlas Peak (1200 to 1750 feet), which has consistently produced top quality Cabernet Sauvignon fruit dominated by classic “mountainside” characteristics with big, balanced tannins, and extremely complex flavors, resulting in a delicious wine.
