Growing Conditions

The 2016 Ladera Rosé is crafted from 100% Malbec, sourced exclusively from Howell Mountain and farmed intentionally for our Rosé production. Rooted in decomposed volcanic ash and red clay soil, the vines produce intensely flavored berries with heightened fruit expression and balance.

The Malbec Rosé harvest began on September 6th, 2016. Crafted in a classic Vin Gris style, the grapes were whole cluster pressed, allowing no maceration time. The sparkling pink juice was cold settled for 24 hours then racked clean to stainless steel (80%) and neutral oak barrels (20%) to undergo fermentation.
