Palate

Deep, rich, chunky, full-bodied and voluptuous. The Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon features loads of black fruit, licorice, espresso roast, slight cigar box and a lingering hint of chocolate. On Trace Ridge, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon in and above the morning fog line where ultimately the warm sunshine creates small grape clusters with intense flavors.

Growing Conditions

The ancient volcano, Mount St. Helena, towers over Sonoma County. On the western slope of the mountain, about 1,000 feet up in elevation, you’ll reach our Trace Ridge vineyard. On Trace Ridge, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon in and above the morning fog line where ultimately the warm sunshine creates small grape clusters with intense flavors. This estate overlooks the original Trace, or Settler’s path, linking Sonoma County to Lake County

Elevation: 450-1,000 feet

Soil: Beige volcanic rock, volcanic loam, fractured rock and thin topsoil.

Climate: Mediterranean warm. Some fog wafts up to the area from Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley and Calistoga.

Aged 21 months in 51% new French Oak.
