Palate

Our Napa Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Is extremely youthful and very ageworthy. Because of the chilling conditions, the Napa Mountain region produces Cabernet berries that are abnormally small, resulting in intense concentrated flavors and extremely dark color.

Growing Conditions

Mount Veeder is the largest AVA and one of only five mountain appellations within Napa Valley. The bay breezes cool the mountain, resulting in a Bordeaux-like climate. Harvest is usually the last in the valley, sometimes stretching into November.

Elevation: 1240-1826 feet

Soil: Weathering volcanic rock that builds the shallow, igneous rock and loam, laced with gray volcanic pumice outcroppings.

Climate: Cooler due to elevation and lower Napa Valley location. Mediterranean climate influence from the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays.
