Palate
Lush tropical fruit intertwines with lemon, lime and floral notes. Elegantly layered, this wine exhibits a rich texture and firm backbone with a hint of vanilla and spice to round out the long finish.
Growing Conditions
70% of the wine is from the same vineyard blocks year-to-year, ensuring greater consistency and enhanced complexity with each vintage. Sur lie aged with lees stirred twice monthly to integrate fruit and oak and promote a creamy mouthfeel. All of our estate vineyards are certified sustainable by the CCSW (Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing) and SIP (Sustainability in Practice) programs. Monterey County’s hillside fruit brings Meyer lemon and lime to the nose. Santa Barbara County provides tropical fruit and pineapple.
Harvest
In 2015, we had one of the earliest seasons ever. From bud break to harvest, we were about one month early on all fronts. Yet with this shift, the growing days were essentially the same as a “normal” season.
Aging
8 months aging in 79% French oak (29% new) with the balance in American oak.
