Palate

Lively berry pie notes are defined in wild strawberry and black cherry, with hints of vanilla. Earthy aromas finesse this bright wine with forest floor and dried leaf tones, leading to a velvety finish and a longing for another sip!

Growing Conditions

Grand Reserve is a winemaker ’s blend of our mountain, ridge, hillside and benchland grapes grown along California’s cool coastal appellations. We hand select grapes from our best estate vineyards and then monitor, taste and hand-hold each individual lot throughout the winemaking process. The 2012 vintage in Santa Barbara and Monterey was very close to perfect, and high-quality grapes were the norm in almost every block we harvested. The resulting cuvee showed great balance with berry and black cherry flavors accompanied by clean, well-integrated acidity and finesse.

Winemaking

Each lot is kept separate, barrel-aged and handcrafted—boutique winery style. Our winemakers have an unmatched palette of flavors, toast levels and terroir nuances from which they masterfully blend these exemplary rich, deep and complex wines.
