Growing Conditions
The 2007 vintage was exceptional in Sonoma, with moderate weather that allowed the fruit to ripen perfectly, producing wines with great depth and character. Quailbush Vineyard, tended by Bob and Mary Voss and their friends, lies on the slopes of the Mayacamus, east of the town of Sonoma in the Lovell Valley Road district. This is a rocky hillside oak Chaparral that faces the setting sun. This accounts for this field blend’s richness and body, not so typical of valley floor Merlot.
Aging
Aged for 42 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels.
