Palate

Our Sonoma County mountain fruit provides crisp acidity and our Lake County fruit offers bright aromatics. Lemon blossom, nectarine, orange melon, and Carabao mango combine with a richly textured and balanced palate; the wine culminates with complex mineral undertones. The blend of the valley, hillside, and mountain vineyards add layers of character and complexity to the wine.

Growing Conditions

The volcanic Mayacamas Mountain range runs 52 miles southeast from Mendocino County, shearing through Lake, Sonoma, and Napa Counties on its way. Rich in winegrowing history, winemaking in these mountains dates back to the 1860s. Captûre targets vineyards within Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Spring Mountain District, and Lake County—appellations at the untamed edges of mainstream wine regions that see more wildlife visitors than human ones.

Aging

Sur lie aging for four months in French oak barrels contributes nuance and depth. Stainless Steel (54%) Neutral Oak (46%).
