Palate

a big sweet kiss of mocha, coffee bean, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, it is rich and opulent, with a sumptuous texture, terrific purity, and moderately high tannins

Growing Conditions

Bancroft Ranch sits on top of Howell Mountain at an elevation of 1770 feet, over rolling hills and well-drained white volcanic ash soils with a rock underlay. The Merlot vines from this distinctive site produce bunches of small, intensely concentrated fruit, resulting in a wine with great depth and structure.
