Growing Conditions

Made from grapes hand selected off premier Russian River Valley vineyards, the 2014 Amici Cellars Pinot Noir showcases the classic Russian River Valley characteristics of heady aromas, vibrant cherry and raspberry fruit flavors and delicate tannins.

2014 was an excellent vintage for Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, the third consecutive such vintage, following the stunning successes of both 2012 and 2013. Despite a regional drought, significant rains in February and March gave the vineyards a healthy soaking, and set up the vines for early budbreak. A mild spring and “perfect” summer temperatures brought grapes to optimum ripeness before an early harvest. The resulting wines are dark in color, with intense aromatics and complex fruit character.

Winemaking

A burst of Bing cherries, ripe strawberry, and raspberry aromas are supported by notes of cola and baking spice. On the palate fresh, vibrant flavors of rhubarb, cherry, and raspberries lead to hints of earthiness and oak, culminating in a balanced, lingering finish.
