Growing Conditions

The 2017 Amici Cellars Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is a decadent, delicious wine grown in one of the highest-altitude vineyards in Oakville. The organically farmed Oakville Ranch is tended by legendary organic grape- grower Phil Coturri, and the site’s elevation, along with its signature red soils, leads to a rich and powerful wine.

For Amici the 2017 wine grape harvest will truly be remembered as a harvest of teamwork and dedication showed on all levels from our team, colleagues, friends and the first responders that saved our homes and livelihood. The quality of the 2017 vintage is ever present and is producing wines of vibrancy, tenacity and character, much like the traits needed by all who helped the wine industry through such a challenging end to the season.

Winemaking

The highest-acidity Cabernet Sauvignon in the Amici single-vineyard lineup, the 2017 Oakville Ranch is mineral-driven with lovely dark cherry and vanilla bean notes along with baker’s chocolate and crème de cassis. Plum, blood orange and dried herbs through the palate evolve into black cherry, wild thyme and hints of iron ore. Distinctly age-worthy with powerful, silky tannins, the wine finishes long and earthy.

Aging

100% Stainless Steel fermentation; Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels
