Palate

This wine is lush with rich fruit-forward flavors such as dark raspberry and blackberry, intermingled with notes of black cherry, pipe tobacco, bittersweet chocolate, violets and spice. With a long finish that lingers on the palate, this wine will cellar beautifully for 10 to 15 years.

Growing Conditions

2013 is widely regarded as one of the best vintages on record for Napa Valley winemaking. The ideal year began with a mild spring and no frosts, and continued with a summer and fall that brought warm, even temperatures and no heat waves. Throughout the growing season the vines enjoyed warm days and cool nights, allowing a long, slow ripening that resulted in beautifully balanced wines with fully developed flavors and fresh acidity.

Winemaking

This 2013 Amici Cellars Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon highlights the lush, ripe fruit of valley floor vineyards, along with the structure and ageability of Napa Valley’s best mountain appellations. The grapes for this wine were sourced from ultra-premium vineyards in Napa Valley, 71% from premier mountain vineyards on Spring Mountain at Atlas Peak and 29% of the blend being premier valley floor vineyards in Rutherford and Oakville. The result is a wine of uncommon depth and complexity, which will age beautifully for 10-15 years.
