Nose
The wine shows sultry aromas of lavendar and crushed rose petals.
Palate
Flavors are filled with strawberry, raspberry and candied orange. The mouthfeel is generous and the finish is full and balanced with bright, seamless acidity.
Growing Conditions
The 2017 Sonoma County Pinot Noir is a selection of rows from our own biodynamically farmed Annadel Gap Vineyard, located in the cool Northern Sonoma Valley, along with the best parcels sourced from Terre de Promissio.
- Annadale Estate Vineyard and Terra del Promissio Vineyard
100% Pinot Noir - clones 115, Mount Eden, Pommard, Calera, 943, Chambertin. Terra del Promissio Vineyard, the most designated Pinot Noir vineyard in Sonoma County. The soil, southwest sun exposure, hill elevation, vine density and the wind and fog of the Petaluma Gap allow the Terra de Promissio grapes to have a slow maturation, extended hang time—which allows optimum ripeness- ideal conditions for the pinot noir grape and part of the formula for quality that results in intensely flavored grapes that makes exceptional and age-worthy wines .
Harvest
- 23.1 and 24.3 Brix at harvest

Each Pinot Noir clone was hand-harvested individually at night. The fruit was hand sorted and fermented individually separated by clone. 6 days cold soak, gentle punch downs 1-3 times daily, 14-20 days on skins and gently basket pressed.
Aging
Gravity fed to French oak barrels (58% new). Aged 16 months then bottled unfiltered.
