Nose
The nose of the 2011 Westerhold Family Vineyards Syrah shows beautiful strawberry and Bing cherry scents, and has amazing complexity in the form of sandalwood, fresh mint and a bit of white pepper.
Palate
Texturally, the wine is very round and supple, and the tannins are perfectly integrated at this point in time. The finish is long, and it slowly dissipates on the palate leaving you a remnant of the beautiful, fresh, clean flavors.
Aging
25 months in 100% new French oak.
Food Pairing
he acidity is still fresh and a good complement to pork and lighter meats.
