Viader Vineyards & WineryProprietary Red Blend

Delia Viader released her first VIADER Proprietary Red blend in 1989 with a large proportion of Cabernet Franc and changed the way the Napa looked at Cabernet Franc forever. 30 years later, Delia’s passion and relentless pursuit of excellence in winemaking continues. Since 2002, Delia is joined by her son Alan in the roles of vineyard manager and since 2006, as winemaker. Alan reinforces the Viader family’s commitment to quality in the meticulous way he hand-farms this magnificent Howell Mountain vineyard estate. The mother-son winemaking team creates the VIADER Proprietary Red Blend by selecting only the very best barrels from grapes hand harvested from our estate. This final blend creates the perfect balance of Cabernet Sauvignon’s complex strength and character with Cabernet Franc’s elegance and violet-like floral aromatics contributing to its early approachability. VIADER Proprietary Red Blend shows the typicity and consistency of the VIADER estate, with its firm structure influenced by the steep and very rocky volcanic red soils of the eastern slopes of Howell Mountain, and the familiar elegance and harmony created through the combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
