Growing Conditions
The 2016 vintage offered ideal weather—dry and temperate with few heat spikes— for hastened yet predictable growing events. Harvest was the exact same week as the year before and on September 4th we were greeted with beautifully ripened fruit ready to pick.
Winemaking
Native yeast and native malolactic methods are used to express vineyard character.
The wine was aged for 18 months in 50% New French Oak from Francois Freres in Burgundy. The finished wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in barrel.
