Nose
A luscious bouquet of ripe blackberry fruits, bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla and plum aromas.
Palate
Dense, layered and full-bodied, the wine has exceptional concentration with silky yet powerful tannins.
Growing Conditions
Seavey's tenth estate-produced Cabernet, the 1999, was made from grapes that came from vines planted in several different locations of the south-facing hillside vineyard. The 1999 vintage, like the 1997, benefited from a long, cool growing season followed by higher than average temperatures in late September. Harvest during the first three weeks of October allowed for extended hang-time, and this enhanced the wine's good balance and rich concentration of fruit flavors.
