Nose

Intense fruit aromas of ripe pear and orange liqueur, complemented by toasty oak.

Palate

Complex pear, apple and citrus flavors give way to a full-bodied texture and a long finish.

Winemaking

In 2015 we selected our favorite barrels of Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, a clone 76 chardonnay which provides the ripe, bright fruit core of this wine. To this we blended select barrels of the Schug Estate, opting for Clone C and a Wente Selection., which contributes vibrant floral aromas. All of this was balanced by the workhorse Clone 4 that Ricci provides.

100% barrel fermented and aged “sur lie” for an average of 7 months, 50% of the blend underwent malo-lactic fermentation.

Aging

14% in new French oak, 28% in 2nd fill and 58% in 3rd & 4th fill barrels.

Food Pairing

Try with shellfish, cream soups, chicken, veal, or rich pasta dishes.
