Nose

A floral nose entices you with rose petal, sage, violet, cassis, clove, and finishes with the familiar dusty earth quality synonymous with Rutherford.

Palate

The body remains thick and round on the palate with tannins resembling suede. The syrupy richness is balanced perfectly with natural fruit acidity which completes the experience leaving you with memories of stewed cherry and toasted almond.

Winemaking

The fruit for the 2010 Reserve was sourced from the most gravelled sections of our Estate vineyard. The crop was handpicked and went through double sorting prior to being transferred to tank. A long, cool fermentation was followed by extended maceration which accentuates the tannins and rounds out the mouth feel. The wine was aged in one hundred percent French oak, seventy percent of which is new. A splash of Petit Verdot is added during the final blending to add depth and structure to the cuvee. This is a wine built to age.
