Palate
Showing lively acidity on entry with bright fruit flavors of red berries, blackberry, and pomegranate, this wine quickly transitions to deeper notes of fresh strawberry, truffle, and cardamom. Robust tannins and beautiful acidity balance this Nebbiolo, finishing with lingering tones of tobacco smoke and violets.
Winemaking
The Mother Grape to such revered wines as Barolo and Barbaresco, Nebbiolo has found its own California personality here in our Rutherford vineyards. This varietal is the last to come in during harvest, and the grapes see an extended cold soak and maceration that typically extends over a month to achieve strong color and tannins.
