The wine fills your entire mouth with a viscous, layered personality, but remains balanced with airy, floral notes, focused flavors and a lingering impression of sweet fruit.
Growing Conditions
The 2012 is the second vintage of Scarpa to hail from the gorgeous Phoenix Ranch in Napa just north of Coombsville. This gravelly, alluvial site is farmed biodynamically by the fastidious and conscientious Brian Phoenix. The wine shows true Syrah varietal character on a Napa Valley frame.
