Palate
Our Sonoma County Zin is warm and flavorful, enveloping your senses with blueberry, blackberry, natural vanilla, and baking spice flavors. The mouthfeel is elegantly layered and generous.
Growing Conditions
Sonoma County Zinfandel is subject to marine influence from the Pacific Ocean and early afternoon fog. The soils are typically a Tuscan red hill cobbly loam with a high water-holding capacity that allows the vines to be dry-farmed. Low yields and slow ripening lead to dense and structured wines of exceptional quality.
Winemaking
Native yeast fermentation, 5–8 days skin contact.
Aging
18 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.
Food Pairing
Spare ribs, beef braised in red wine, and leg of lamb.
