Nose
Packed with aromas of sun ripened cherries, blackberry, and nutmeg.
Palate
Chauvet Zin has a flavor profile all its own with flavors of bright cherry, cranberry, and lingonberry jam. The pH levels tend to be higher, which means acids are lower. As a result, it is rich and round, with a silky tannic structure and a lingering finish.
Growing Conditions
Chauvet Vineyard is a mere 10 acres sandwiched between Barricia and Old Hill vineyards planted almost exclusively to Zinfandel, mostly old vines planted in the 1930's interspersed with some younger ones.
Appearance
The 2013 Chauvet Zinfandel has a ruby color with a purple hue.
