Nose
The 2014 vintage is packed with sun ripened cherries, blackberry, and nutmeg aromas.
Palate
The Chauvet Zinfandel has a flavor profile all its own with flavors of bright cherry, cranberry, and lingonberry jam. Rich and round, with a silky tannic structure and a lingering finish.
Growing Conditions
Chauvet Vineyard is a mere 10 acres sandwiched between Barricia and Old Hill Vineyards planted almost exclusively to Zinfandel, mostly old vines planted in the 1930's interspersed with some younger ones.
Aging
Aged 19 months in French oak barrels, 20% new.
Appearance
Ruby in color with a purple hue.
