Nose
Winemaker Sara Fowler harvests a small portion of our estate
Cabernet Franc early to craft this beautiful Rosé of Cabernet Franc.
Fruit forward aromas of dried strawberry, watermelon, and hints of
green pear jump from the glass enticing you to take your first sip. The
palate is lively with an essence of spicy green mango salad that
balances perfectly with notes of strawberries and cream. Incredibly
refreshing, this Rosé is the ultimate Summer sipper
Growing Conditions
Persephone Vineyard is our 350-acre estate in the heart of Pope Valley,
a largely undiscovered grape-growing region in the northeast corner of
Napa Valley. The ranch is planted with 130 acres of vines, which includes
our Bordeaux grape varieties as well as Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, and
Chardonnay. At nearly 1,000 feet elevation, the area is characterized by wide
temperature swings and little fog, which allows for a consistent growing
season and produces fruit with rich, focused flavor, and a precise sense of
place. Persephone is sustainably farmed, moving towards organic certification.
The 2020 season will be remembered for factors beyond the normal
measurements. Here in the valley, it was a warm, dry winter and we
didn't start to see rain and cold weather until the end of March. Summer
brought very cool mornings and very warm days. The wines are showing
excellent development. While the 2020 Napa Valley harvest proved to be
one of the most challenging in history, we are committed to bottling
wines of the highest quality.
