Palate

Ruby in color with floral notes of violet and rich cedar aromas on the nose. Concentrated flavors of dark cherry, black currant, raspberry and dusty cocoa lead to a brooding finish with firm tannins and soft acidity that support the rich black fruit flavors.

The near-perfect 2016 growing season started early, with ideal weather conditions throughout and wrapped up as the valley’s first significant fall rainstorm arrived in mid-October. Thanks to a relatively steady and mild summer and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness. Wines from the 2016 vintage represent the fifth consecutive vintage of stellar quality Napa Valley wines.
