Palate

Bright, clean wine with aromas and flavors of citrus that are refreshing on the palate.

Growing Conditions

As it was last year, it is 50% Pinot Grigio, which is actually a variation on Pinot Noir, and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. It was naturally fermented in the bottle in the traditional French method and aged in glass for a little over a year. The result is a very pale yellow, bright, clean wine with aromas and flavors of citrus that are refreshing on the palette.

Winemaking

The wine is made from a blend of 50% Pinot Grigio and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. It was naturally fermented in the bottle in the traditional French method. Pinot Grigio, which is actually a variation of Pinot Noir, is fairly typical for this style of wine. However, I wanted bright and crisp citrus flavors so I chose Sauvignon Blanc to provide that dimension. It worked really well, so this year I did the same thing but with a tiny amount of residual sugar (0.40%) which creates an even more pleasing palate.

Aging

This wine was aged in the bottle for one year before release.

Appearance

A very pale yellow.
