Nose
Lofty aromas of ripe berries, lavender, smoked meats, tobacco and cedar.
Palate
In the glass, this full-bodied wine opens up with notes of fresh picked blackberries, boysenberry, juicy nectarine, cocoa, licorice and black pepper. From there the lively flavors are further accented by a hint of forest, chewey tannins, bright acidity and a long spicy finish.
Growing Conditions
These Zinfandel grapes are grown in one of the most historic vineyards in Sonoma Valley. The grapes are grown on the southeast rocky hillside north of the town of Sonoma. Here the grapes struggle to grow, concentrating the flavors

Winemaking
The grapes were picked at dawn and rushed to the winery. After a whole berry crush, we cold soaked the fruit for three days, and then put it through twenty days of fermentation.
