Meander

A brief history

Meander is the result of my personal passion for Cabernet Sauvignon. I love making Cab and believe Napa Valley is the best place to do that. I invite you to Meander to the website to read more about my philosophy and my wines.; ~Amy Aiken; Vineyard Sources; Meander's production is exclusively Cabernet Sauvignon from the world renowned Napa Valley. The wine is a blend of fruit from two historical vineyards, both of which have been family-owned and farmed for generations: Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford and Lewelling Vineyards in St. Helena. These producers are two of the Valley's most sought after by winemakers who craft the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon wines.; I feel very fortunate to work with these growers. It is a thrill to make wine with the fruit that they and Mother Nature produce.; Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench in the Napa Valley. Family-farmed for over 100 years, Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation of his family to grow grapes on this historic property. The vineyard is predominately planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and the fruit is some of the most sought after in the Napa Valley. Surrounded by Staglin Vineyards, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Rubicon, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic Rutherford Dust qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character.; Lewelling Vineyards were established in 1864 near the western foothills in St. Helena by pioneer winegrower and horticulturist John Lewelling. This historic vineyard is one of the oldest continuously-owned family vineyards in the Napa Valley. They are a stones throw away from Hayne Vineyard and Beckstoffer's Dr. Crane Vineyards. Now managed by fifth generation Doug Wight, Lewelling Vineyards consistently produces exceptionally rich and flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon.; With each vintage I strive to capture the vineyards' fruit expression in harmony and balance with supple tannins and lasting structure. My wines are approachable and smooth upon release, yet continue to gain complexity with bottle age.
