Nose

Much like its quarrelsome counterpart, Stormin’ lends intense expression. Dark, brambly fruits are found on the nose with subtle mocha and chai tea notes shining through.

Palate

Rich and plush in texture, the palate reveals dark chocolate and black plum with a delightful finish of vanilla and clove. When poured to glass, the brilliant intensity and abundance of flavors and aroma is discovered in this obstinate wine.

Harvest

Similar to the near perfect weather conditions of 2012, this vintage was graced with a long, slow approach to harvest and plenty of time to deliberate on the ideal pick date for each block. Following the successful pattern of 2012, the fruit for Stormin’ was harvested on a single day, October 8th

Winemaking

Beginning with a five day cold soak, this wine utilized the slow moving AMH yeast that effectively carried the fermentation for two weeks in tank. Punch-downs were performed one-to-three times daily to aide in the extraction of flavors and color profile desirable for Pinot Noir. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was racked into a blend and began its aging regime until bottling in the following winter.
