Nose
Jolie continues to be the most delicate and oral of the Maggy Hawk wines with elegant aromas of hibiscus and tea rose with subtle notes of red plum and earth.
Palate
The palate reveals flavors of blueberry preserve, cranberry and nutmeg with smooth, fine tannins. This is an alluring, beautiful wine that once again shows the beauty of Pinot Noir.
Harvest
The 2011 harvest in Anderson Valley started much later than usual and the fruit for Jolie was picked on October 24th, 2011 and October 28th, 2011. Similar to the 2010 vintage, 2011 was characterized by heavy spring rains and cooler weather than normal. The combination of rain and a long, cool growing season throughout the spring and summer contributed to lower than average yields. The resulting wines exhibit great concentration and elegance with balanced acidity.
