Nose

Complex aromas of black berry, blue berry, and a hint of red currant as well as elegant bouquets of black pepper and clove.

Palate

Once sipped, a layer of matured berry flavors quickly open up on the palate. Supple acidity melts into silky mouthfeel, while elegant spice notes add depth and complexity to this wine.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-picked at the peak of ripeness. The clusters were destemed but not crushed and whole berries were sent into an open top fermenter. They went through 3 days of cold soak before the inoculation. Gentle extraction of grape flavors, tannins, and color were attained by punching down the cap three times daily during fermentation.

Aging

The wine was aged in 100% French oak for 20 months.

Appearance

The color is deep ruby.
